CDS Syllabus 2016
UPSC has released CDS Syllabus 2016 for the upcoming CDS Exam for admission in Combined Defence Services (OTA, IMA, AFA and INA). All those aspirants who are preparing for the CDS Exam 2016 must download the latest exam pattern from this page.
Union Public Service Commission conducts CDS Exam two times every year in the month of February/ October for those candidates who want to join Combined Defence Services via Indian Military Academy, Air Force Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Officers Training Academy.
The exam pattern and syllabus plays an important part for doing proper preparation for the CDS Exam. Therefore, contenders must prepare according to the latest paper format for scoring good marks.
CDS Exam Pattern 2016:
The CDS examination consists of the following tests as mentioned below.
- Written Examination
- Personality/ Intelligence Test
For admission in IMA, INA and AFA:

Interview/Personality Test:
The SSB procedure consists of two stage selection process, stage I or stage II or those candidates who have cleared stage I are permitted to appear for Stage II.
- Stage I comprises of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and picture perception, description Test (PP & DT). Aspirant will be shortlisted on the basis of combined performance in OIR and (PP & DT).
- Stage II comprises of Interview Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. These test are conducted over four days.
