TNHB is a small government organization which is formed under the name as ‘ City Improvement Trust’. The organization officially came into existence in 1947 whereas its main head quarters are located in Chennai, Tamil nadu. Earlier this organization as only meant to take care of the housing needs of the people living in the Madras city but later from 1961 onwards this organization become a complete housing board of the state as the demand of the housing sector increases in the state.
To cope up with this increase in demand of houses in urban areas, TNHB helps in providing houses in the cities of the state.
