Students who are in BPL category they can take advantage of this scheme.

It seems that Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. N. Chandrababu Naidu agrees with PM’s(Narendra Modi) thought as he is going to launch a free Smartphone scheme for students in Andhra Pradesh (AP). This free mobile scheme in Andhra will be officially permitted to only poor students i.e. students that belong to the BPL category.
There are many young, intelligent students in the state who at present are not capable to live up to their potential due to their poverty. Due to lack of resources, such students often find themselves lagging behind. It is the job of our government to make sure every such student is given help. Providing free smart phones to the BPL students of Andhra Pradesh is an appreciable step.

Eligibility Standard
- Contenders should be resident of Andhra Pradesh
- Candidates must be a student with valid Student ID Card
- Only the applicants belonging to the BPL category are eligible to apply
Registration Process
- Recently such schemes were launched in two states – Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.
- In both of these states the booking for the free phone was done online.
- Official online portals were set up and users could register directly from there.
- Although the Andhra Government hasn’t launched any portal yet, it is expected that soon the registration portal will be launched and applications will be accepted via online mode only.

Easy steps for registration process
- Once the portal is launched, the registration steps will include –
- Visit the Direct link of registration page
- Entering the basic information like Name, Address etc.
- Providing aadhaar card number, mobile number and email for verification
- Enter the OTP (One time Password)
- Providing the details of Institute/College
- Uploading the College/Institute ID card
- Uploading BPL Card
- After the successful submission of online application form, a system generated application number will appear on the screen.
- Note down the number as it will be required later on.
- At the end take print out of form and keep it safe for future reference.
